Project 365 – Day 345

I’ve always wanted to photograph this beautiful old barn.  It sits on some family land and is so rickety that you’d swear a strong wind could push it down.  I can tell there are amazing stories in every painted board and every old stone.

Project 365 – Day 319!

Yep, I’m still plugging away at Project 365!  And also still working on Baby Sophia’s album.  There are butterflies and pink patterns everwhere – I love it!

Can you unscramble the letters to find the title of this layout?  🙂

**Supplies:  Martha Stewart Crafts butterfly embellishments, My Mind’s Eye “Lime Twist” paper, Prism six strand floss, Close To My Heart – My Acrylix “Alphabets” stamps**

watching my garden bloom

Springtime in Minnesota is so very precious.  After a very long and cold winter every tiny blade of grass, fuzzy tree leaf, and vibrant flower is celebrated.  I am in heaven watching my garden bloom.

{R}eally?

Yes, it’s pretty.  But come on!  We’ve seen this pretty white stuff in Minnesota for six months now… I think we’re all ready for a break.  These poor maple tree buds were shivering yesterday, and you should see the confused gazes of all the geese and robins around here.  I can practically hear them saying, “We flew all the way up here for this?  Really!?”

{Q}uilting

Some of you may have read earlier about my curiosity with quilting – and actually with the whole sewing on fabric thing (hey, that egg is doing a fine job as my pin cushion!)  Today I thought I’d take another baby step and play with fabric a little on one of my scrapbook layouts.

The fabric comes from a charm pack from Moda, called Sunkissed by Sweetwater.

It’s full of bright happy colors and patterns that perfectly match some photos of my little man eating a purple popsicle.

First I used the beast to sew the fabric together in one long strip, then actually adhered it to my layout and sewed paper over the edges.  I really like how it turned out!

It’s fun to have the different textures and the cozy feeling that fabric gives along with the crispness of paper.

It really doesn’t matter what material I use – I just love the stitching part!

A few days ago I tried my hand at making this coaster with the Sunkissed fabric.  It was fun!  But it’s so pretty that I don’t want to use it now – I feel like I should slip it into a plastic sleeve in my scrapbook album to keep it clean and safe!

{J}oy is

waking up to a beautiful sunrise.

finding little kid creations around the house. (Perler Beads, made by my big boy)

sneaking sprinkle cookies into lunch boxes.

making pretty little gifts with stitches and paper.

Joy is knowing that Spring is here and it’s going to be 67 degrees today.  This puts me in a fantastic mood after such a long winter.

Happy Day, everyone!  ©
